CSK’s Playoff Hopes Hit by Jamie Overton’s Thigh Injury
Chennai Super Kings have suffered another injury blow. All-rounder Jamie Overton has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2026 due to a right thigh injury.

The English star picked up the injury ahead of CSK’s match against Lucknow Super Giants. He will now return to the UK for further checks and treatment.
“Jamie Overton has a right thigh injury and will be returning to the UK for further assessment and management,” CSK said in an official statement on Wednesday, May 13.
Overton is the eighth player from the Chennai camp to be sidelined this season. His exit adds to a long list of fitness problems that have troubled the team throughout the tournament.

CSK’s injury list now has eight names, which has made their campaign very difficult this season.

Earlier on the same day, CSK had brought in Macneil Noronha as a replacement for Ramakrishna Ghosh. Ghosh was ruled out after breaking his foot on his IPL debut.
Other key players who have missed matches include MS Dhoni, who has not played a single game yet due to a calf strain. Nathan Ellis, Matthew Short, Khaleel Ahmed, Ayush Mhatre, and Dewald Brevis have also been out for different reasons.
