Ayush Mhatre is a young batting talent from Mumbai who is just 18 years old. He bats right-handed and bowls off-spin, playing as a top-order batter for Mumbai and Chennai Super Kings. His journey to cricket was not easy. He used to travel nearly 80 kilometres by train from Virar to Churchgate just to play the game. At 17, he made his first-class debut for Mumbai. In his third match, he scored his maiden century. On the last day of 2024, he broke a List-A record by scoring 181 runs off 117 balls, becoming the youngest batter to hit 150 or more in an innings. He was not picked in the IPL 2025 auction at first. But an injury gave him a late chance with Chennai Super Kings. On his IPL debut, he became CSK’s youngest ever player and scored 32 runs in just 15 balls.
