Ayush Mhatre to Lead India U19 Squad on Australia Tour; Team and Fixtures Announced

Ayush Mhatre will once again captain the India Under-19 cricket team as they head to Australia in September 2025. Riding high after leading India to a Youth ODI series win in England earlier this year, Mhatre is set to guide a talented squad that will play three one-day matches and two multi-day games against Australia’s U19 team.

Vihaan Malhotra has been named as vice-captain for the tour, replacing Abhigyan Kundu in that role. Kundu remains in the team as a wicketkeeper. Familiar faces like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Rahul Kumar, and Harvansh Singh are back, while newcomers including Kishan Kumar, Udhav Mohan, and Aman Chauhan join the 18-member squad. Khilan Patel also returns after recovering from injury.

The team will first take the field on September 21 at Norths, which will host all three ODIs and the first multi-day game. The second multi-day match is scheduled for Mackay in early October. Five players have also been named as standbys to cover any last-minute changes.

This tour is seen as a great chance for India’s U19 stars to gain experience and shine in new conditions. Fans and coaches alike hope these young cricketers make the most of the opportunity and return home with another series win.
