Where to Find the Ancient Village in Windrose

Since Windrose uses procedural map generation, finding specific landmarks like the Ancient Village can be difficult.
You might already guess that the Boar Whistle can be located within the Foothills biome, but the sad part is that exact coordinates will vary for every player. You cannot rely on a fixed map pin from other players; instead, you must look for a specific visual indicator on your own map.
You have to open your map and search for a Wheat Field icon. This unique Point of Interest is the only place where the ritual altar appears.

On the world map, this POI often has a description mentioning “ A ruined village now inhabited by animals. Above the Wreckage rises a mysterious altar of the ancient.”
How to Get the Boar Whistle in Windrose

After you reach the center of the village, you will find an Ancient Altar at the bottom of a large statue.

To get Boar Whistle in Windrose, you must interact with the altar and give a set of offerings, including 20x Pieces of Meat and 3x Ritual Oil.
Step 1: Search for Ritual Oil

The Ritual Oil is found in Ancient Chests located in three separate ruined buildings surrounding the statue:
- Southwest Building: The Ancient Chest is in an open room along the southeast wall.
- South Building: It is sitting out in the open on the northeast wall.
- Southeast Building: You can find the chest in a small room on the western side. Get it by jumping down from above or break the vines that are in the way.
Step 2: Collect Meat for Offering
To gather the 20x Pieces of Meat quickly, you don’t necessarily have to hunt every wolf yourself. A best trick is to lure the Alpha Wolves toward the Goat Leaders roaming the village outskirts. These two groups will immediately start attacking each other. Wait for it to settle then kill the surviving ones and use a skinning knife to gather meat.
Step 3: Return to the Ancient Altar
After collecting everything go back to the altar. Make sure you have empty inventory slots before submitting the final materials. If your bags are full when the ritual completes, the Legendary Boar Whistle may drop on the ground.
