Pat Cummins Fined for Slow Over Rate as Sunrisers Hyderabad Suffer Another Setback
Sunrisers Hyderabad faced a tough loss against Gujarat Titans on Tuesday night. The team is still in the top 4 of the points table, but they need to win their remaining matches to stay in the race for the playoffs.
Now the team has received another shock. Captain Pat Cummins has been fined for slow over rate during the match.
Cummins Fined 12 Lakh Rupees
The IPL released a statement saying that Pat Cummins was punished for maintaining a slow over rate during the match against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Since this was the team’s first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, Cummins was fined 12 lakh rupees.
SRH Suffer Heavy Defeat
Gujarat Titans batted first and scored 168 runs in 20 overs. The target did not look very big. But SRH’s batsmen failed completely. The entire team could only score 86 runs and got all out in just 14.5 overs. They lost the match by 82 runs. This defeat has also hurt their net run rate a little.
Two League Matches Left for SRH
Sunrisers Hyderabad have played 12 matches so far. They have two games remaining. The team will face Chennai Super Kings on May 18 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Their final league match will be against RCB on May 22.
SRH have played good cricket so far and are considered strong contenders for the title this season.
