Rishabh Pant Returns to Delhi Capitals in Blockbuster Swap Deal With Kuldeep Yadav
The IPL announced a straight swap on Tuesday. Pant will rejoin Delhi Capitals for the 2027 season at a salary of ₹15 crore. In exchange, spinner Kuldeep Yadav moves to Lucknow Super Giants at his ₹13.5 crore fee.
Delhi fans could not be happier. Social media lit up with messages like “Welcome home, Rishabh.” Pant started his IPL journey with DC in 2016. He spent nine seasons there before moving to LSG. He also survived a serious car crash in 2022 that kept him out of cricket for months.

Pant captained LSG in 2025 and 2026. The team finished seventh in 2025 and at the bottom of the table last season. His aggressive batting and fearless leadership will now return to Delhi.
Kuldeep Yadav has been a key bowler for Delhi. Since 2022, he has taken 72 wickets in 65 matches. His spin will strengthen LSG’s attack in the middle overs. The move also gives LSG more purse space. They no longer have to carry Pant’s massive ₹27 crore auction price tag.
This swap is a fresh start for both players. For Rishabh Pant, it is a homecoming. For Kuldeep, a new challenge. And for fans, a move that will keep the IPL gossip buzzing for weeks.
