Gus Atkinson is a tall right-arm fast-medium bowler who has made a stunning impact on the international stage since his England debut in 2024. The 28-year-old from Chelsea, educated at Bradfield College, was initially a wildcard selection for England’s 50-over World Cup squad in 2023 after impressing for Surrey and clocking 95mph during a vicious spell in the Hundred. His Test debut at Lord’s in June 2024 proved unforgettable, upstaging James Anderson’s farewell with sensational figures of 7 for 45 in the first innings and 12 for 106 in the match against West Indies, earning him player of the series honours after 22 wickets in his first three Tests.
