Dragon’s Breath Blunderbuss in Windrose: Swamp Crypt Location

Dragon’s Breath Blunderbuss in Windrose

If you want a close-range firearm to melt enemy groups instantly then the Dragon’s Breath Blunderbuss in Windrose is exactly what you need. This single-shot gun fires a huge flame cone to hit everything in front of you.

Beyond the initial impact, it also has a deadly Damage Over Time (DOT) effect that takes away health from anyone caught in the blast.

How to Get Dragon’s Breath in Windrose

To get this weapon you must survive the Swamp Crypt located deep inside the Cursed Swamp biome.

Do not walk into this area with basic gear. The crypt is packed with high-level enemies like Plague Warriors and Thralls. They can easily overwhelm you if your weapons are weak.

After you manage to clear them, search for 11 Ancient Chests scattered around the crypt. The weapon recipe is hidden inside one of them. But the catch is that some of these chests are sealed behind destructible walls.

To break these walls, you will just need an Iron Pickaxe. If you forget to bring one, you might miss the exact chest that contains the recipe.

Tip:

You can craft an Iron Pickaxe at a Level 2 Workbench using 5x Wood and 5x Foothills Iron Ingots.

After you unlock the recipe, go back to your base and use the Weaponsmith Workshop to craft the gun.

The resource requirements are surprisingly cheap for such a strong weapon. You only need 10x Wood and 7x Copper Ingots. Since these materials are very easy to gather, you can quickly make a replacement if you ever lose your main copy.

There is also a really good farming trick tied to this gun. If you take a crafted Dragon’s Breath to a Disassembly Table and scrap it, the game refunds your base materials. However, it also gives you 4x Tumbaga Ingots. Since it is a rare resource, you can literally just keep crafting and scrapping this weapon to gain more Tumbaga Ingots.

FAQs

What level should I be before entering the Swamp Crypt?

While there is no strict level requirement, you should have mid-tier armor and enough healing items before entering. Plague enemies hit very hard and apply status effects that can quickly drain your health bar.

No. The 60% chance explosive fire effect only damages the enemies caught inside the blast radius. You can safely use it in tight corridors without any fear of self-damage.

Yes. Even though it fires a flame cone, the weapon still deals heavy physical damage. It gives 280 base ATK and 160 Pierce damage right alongside its fire explosion effects.
