How to unlock Buccaneer’s Friend Musket in Windrose

How to unlock Buccaneer’s Friend Musket in Windrose

If you prefer taking down enemies from a distance instead of boarding ships for close combat, then you would definitely want the Buccaneer’s Friend Musket. It is one of the most reliable long-range weapons you can grab early on. It even gives you a nice damage boost when hunting wildlife for resource materials.

You won’t be able to unlock this gun by playing the main campaign. It is completely tied to a specific faction quest line. Here is exactly what you need to do to add this weapon to your arsenal.

How to Get Buccaneer’s Friend Musket in Windrose

To get this weapon, you have to complete a faction quest called Glorious Hunters. Make sure to bring plenty of health potions and your best gear.

Step 1: Investigate the Deserted Camps

The mission starts by sending you to check on a few different Buccaneer camps. You will quickly realize they are completely empty. Take a moment to search the area to figure out what went wrong.

It turns out Blackbeard’s pirates raided the place. Before you leave the camp make sure you open the two chests nearby. More importantly, grab the broken Buccaneer musket lying on the ground.

Step 2: Talk to Henri Boucher

Head straight to the Rogue Buccaneers Main Base with the broken gun in your inventory. You are looking for Henri Boucher, the faction leader.

Handing him the weapon triggers a conversation. He explains that the musket actually belonged to his brother. Unfortunately, his brother and the entire hunting party were killed during the raid.

Step 3: Sink the Pirate Ships

Henri wants you to take revenge. Go to sea and destroy three pirate ships.

You can just sink them using your ship’s cannons. There is no need to board those ships and fight the crew directly.

Step 4: Claim Your Reward

After sinking all the ships, report back to the Rogue Buccaneers Main Base.

Speak with Henri Boucher for one last time to complete the quest. As a reward for avenging his brother, he will give you the Buccaneer’s Friend Musket.

Does the animal damage bonus work on the enemies in the Cursed Swamps?

No. The 15% bonus only applies to wildlife animals like boars and wolves found in the coastal jungles.
