RCB vs GT IPL 2026 Final: Why Bengaluru Might Silence Ahmedabad Again?
The IPL 2026 final is finally here, and it is a clash between the two best teams of the season. Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru will battle for the trophy in Ahmedabad. Many people believe GT have the advantage because they are playing at home, but this final may not be as one-sided as it looks.
Yes, Gujarat defeated RCB earlier this season in Ahmedabad. Yes, their bowling attack has been dangerous throughout the tournament. But finals are not won only because of home conditions. Finals are won by teams that handle pressure better, and right now RCB look mentally stronger than ever before.
RCB’s journey this season has been very different from previous years. This team no longer depends on just one or two players. Their batting line-up has clicked together at the right time. In the playoff match against Punjab Kings, almost every batter contributed and they posted one of the biggest totals ever seen in IPL playoffs. That performance showed how dangerous this batting unit can become when momentum is on their side.
Virat Kohli has looked more aggressive this season than ever before. He is attacking from the beginning and putting bowlers under pressure quickly. Rajat Patidar has led the side calmly, while players like Tim David, Krunal Pandya, and Jitesh Sharma have played important roles in finishing games.
One major talking point before the final is GT’s travel situation. Due to thunderstorms in Chandigarh, Gujarat Titans reached Ahmedabad late and had very little time to settle before the final. That may not sound huge, but recovery and preparation matter a lot before a high-pressure game. RCB, meanwhile, look fresh and settled after Qualifier 1.
GT’s biggest strength this season has been their pace attack. Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj have destroyed teams in the powerplay. Rabada has bowled with extreme pace and aggression, while Siraj has used movement smartly against top-order batters. Jason Holder has also added balance to the side with his bounce and wicket-taking ability.
However, there is one concern for Gujarat Titans. Their middle order still looks fragile when Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan fail. That weakness was clearly visible in Qualifier 1 where GT collapsed badly after losing their openers early. Against a bowling attack that includes Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, GT’s top order will once again face a serious test.
Ahmedabad usually helps chasing teams, and four of the last six IPL finals were won while chasing. That means the toss could become very important. Dew may also play a role later in the night.
Still, RCB have something special on their side this season. Different players have stepped up in different matches. They have already had eight different Player of the Match winners this year, which shows how balanced this team has become.
GT have the home crowd. GT have strong bowlers. But RCB have momentum, confidence, and experience in handling knockout pressure.
After 18 years without a title and one championship last season, Bengaluru now stand just one step away from creating a new IPL dynasty. Ahmedabad may support Gujarat Titans, but RCB have enough firepower to silence the stadium once again.
