Swapnil Singh is a seasoned left-arm orthodox spinner whose career has been defined by resilience and longevity across India’s domestic and IPL circuits. The 35-year-old from Rae Bareilly made a remarkable first-class debut for Baroda at just 14 years and 355 days, one of the youngest ever in Indian cricket. Despite being part of India’s 25 probables for the 2008 Under-19 World Cup, he narrowly missed the final squad. Over the next decade, he featured in 76 domestic matches, with his best performances coming during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, including a stunning 6 for 19 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament. His IPL journey began with Kings XI Punjab in 2016, where he claimed MS Dhoni as his maiden wicket. After stints with Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Swapnil played a key role in RCB’s remarkable playoff qualification in 2024, contributing tidy spells during their six-match winning streak. Having moved from Baroda to Uttarakhand domestically, Swapnil continues to be a reliable spin option in Indian cricket, with his experience and control making him a valuable asset in the T20 format.
