Kranti Gaud is a fast-bowling allrounder from Madhya Pradesh whose journey to professional cricket is as remarkable as her rise through the ranks. The 22-year-old from Chhindwara grew up playing tennis-ball cricket with the boys, often to the displeasure of her neighbours, until a chance encounter at a ground in Ghuwara changed her life forever. When a team was a player short, she stepped in, starred with both bat and ball, and won the Player-of-the-Match award. Her raw speed and athleticism caught the attention of coach Rajiv Bilthre, who honed her skills and transformed her into a genuine allrounder. Gaud made her senior debut for Madhya Pradesh in 2023-24 and was instrumental in the state’s first domestic one-day title in 2024-25. Her performances earned her a WPL contract with UP Warriorz for INR 10 lakh, followed by international debuts in both ODIs and T20Is. She announced her arrival on the global stage with stunning ODI figures of 6 for 52 against England in Chester-le-Street, cementing her place as one of India’s most exciting young fast-bowling prospects.
