Megan Schutt is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who has been a cornerstone of Australia’s women’s bowling attack for over a decade. The 33-year-old from Adelaide made her international debut in 2012 and quickly established herself as a world-class seamer, known for her big inswingers and a more recently developed leg-cutter that has added another dimension to her bowling. Schutt’s career is decorated with remarkable achievements: she became the first female bowler to take two international hat-tricks, achieving the feat against West Indies in an ODI following a previous hat-trick against India in a T20I. At the 2020 T20 World Cup, she was the leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets, including four in the final against India. She is comfortably Australia’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is and the second-fastest female to 100 ODI wickets. Domestically, she has been a formidable presence for the Adelaide Strikers in the WBBL, taking a combined 49 wickets across their back-to-back titles in 2022-23 and 2023-24. With over 300 international wickets across formats, Schutt’s consistency and skill have made her one of the most respected bowlers in women’s cricket.
