Ashleigh Gardner is a dynamic allrounder who has become an integral part of Australia’s all-conquering women’s cricket team, known for her explosive batting and increasingly potent off-spin bowling. The 29-year-old from Bankstown, Sydney, made her international debut in 2017 and has since developed into one of the most valuable players in world cricket. Gardner is one of just four Indigenous Australians to play Test cricket, alongside Faith Thomas, Jason Gillespie, and Scott Boland. Her career highlights include being named Player of the Tournament at the 2023 T20 World Cup in South Africa, a match haul of 12 for 165 in the 2023 Ashes Test at Trent Bridge, and winning the Belinda Clark Award twice, in 2022 and 2024. In the inaugural WPL auction, she was snapped up by Gujarat Giants for INR 3.2 crore, reflecting her global standing.
