Kris Srikkanth Blasts CSK Management and Team Selection After Poor IPL Season

Kris Srikkanth

Former India captain Kris Srikkanth is not happy with Chennai Super Kings. He has strongly criticized the team management and their poor performance in IPL 2026.

What Did Kris Srikkanth Say?

In his angry statement, Srikkanth pointed out several problems with the CSK team this year.

Srikkanth said CSK made a big mistake with their team selection. He explained that you cannot win championships with only young players. A good team needs a mix of young and experienced players. CSK never won titles in the past with only junior players. They always had experienced players in their squad.

He noted that apart from Sanju Samson, there are hardly any truly experienced players in the team. This is a big problem according to him.

Srikkanth was also angry about how CSK spent their money. He called the 14 crore rupees spent on players like Kartik Sharma and Prashant Veer a completely wasteful investment.

He also questioned Ruturaj Gaikwad‘s place in the T20 setup. According to Srikkanth, Gaikwad is not really a proper T20 player but is being forced to play this format.

The former India captain did not spare the coach either. He said the coach should be sacked as soon as possible because he has not delivered any success for many years. Srikkanth believes the sooner the coach is changed, the better it will be for the team.

He also pointed out that players like Urvil Patel were kept on the bench at the start of the season. With such decisions, Srikkanth said the poor results were expected.
