Anil Agarwal Pushes for Bihar’s Own IPL Team, Highlights Local Talent
Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal has made a strong pitch for a Bihar-based team in the Indian Premier League. He said Bihar has the talent to match powerhouses like Chennai Super Kings.
Agarwal pointed to two rising stars from the state. He mentioned Ishan Kishan‘s record ODI double-century. He also highlighted Sakib Hussain‘s fast bowling for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2026.
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary supported the idea. He said the state is working on a “mission mode” to develop cricket. The new 45,000-seat Rajgir International Cricket Stadium is now ready for big matches.
There are currently seven Bihari players in IPL 2026. This has created excitement among fans. However, some people have questions. They wonder if these promises will become reality. Others feel the state should also focus on other sports alongside cricket.
The idea of a Bihar IPL team is gaining attention. But only time will tell if it actually happens.
