IPL Star Shashank Singh and Father Accused of Assault by Cook in Bhopal

Shashank Singh

There is trouble brewing for IPL player Shashank Singh. The Punjab Kings batter and his father have been accused of assaulting their cook. A police case has been filed in Bhopal.

Vipendra Singh Tomar filed a complaint at Ratibad police station on June 25. He claimed that Shashank, his father Shailesh Singh (a retired IPS officer), and their driver assaulted him. He also said they abused him, took away his phone, and confined him.

Tomar said he was promised a salary of Rs 15,000 and help with finding a job. But he claimed the family insulted him over his cooking. When he tried to leave, they allegedly attacked him. A medical check confirmed that Tomar had injuries.

Shashank’s Response

Shashank has denied all the accusations. He called Tomar a trespasser who entered his house without permission. He also claimed that Tomar filmed private areas of the house and demanded money. Shashank said they let Tomar go peacefully on June 28. He also stated that the police had not contacted them yet.

Police are now investigating the case. They are looking into charges of hurt, intimidation, and common intention. The cricketing world will be watching closely.

Shashank has been a key player for Punjab Kings and had a decent IPL 2026 season, scoring 375 runs in 15 matches. His future in the league remains secure for now, but this controversy could be a distraction.
