Phil Salt Returns to RCB Ahead of Playoffs, Big Boost for Top Team
Good news for Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans. England batsman Phil Salt is coming back to the team later this week, as reported by ESPNcricinfo. He had missed seven matches after hurting his finger on April 18 against Delhi Capitals.
RCB is currently on top of the points table. They have 18 points from 13 matches and the best net run rate of +1.065. They have already made it to the playoffs and are now aiming for Qualifier 1 on May 26.
Before his injury, Salt was in great touch. He scored 202 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 168.33. He was opening well with Virat Kohli. His replacement Jacob Bethell could only manage 96 runs in seven games.
There is more good news. Captain Rajat Patidar will also be back for Friday’s game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. This gives the team many good options for selection. RCB is already on a winning run and these returns make them even stronger for the playoff race.
