IPL 2026 Playoff Race: RCB and GT Lead the Pack as Qualification Odds Revealed
The race for the IPL 2026 playoffs is heating up, and the numbers are out. After Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s win over Kolkata Knight Riders in Raipur on Wednesday, the defending champions have a massive 92.6 per cent chance of making it to the top four. That is according to Star Sports.

But here is the interesting part. Even with this big win, RCB does not have the highest qualification chance. That honour goes to Gujarat Titans. The 2022 champions are on a roll with five straight wins. They have a 94.8 per cent chance of reaching the playoffs.
Both teams are tied on 16 points from 12 matches. But RCB has a much better net run rate, which could be crucial if points end up level later in the season. The top two spots give teams two chances to reach the final, so finishing in the top two is a big deal.
The final will be played in Ahmedabad on May 31.
