Aakash Chopra’s Bonus Points Idea for IPL Gets Brutally Trolled
Former India opener Aakash Chopra has once again pushed for bonus points in the IPL. He wants teams to get extra points for winning matches by a big margin. For example, finishing a chase 20 percent faster than the required target could earn a bonus point.
I wish IPL adopts the Bonus Point option for a massive win…

The idea has come up because this season’s points table is very tight. Royal Challengers Bengaluru are leading with 18 points, but other teams are close behind. Chopra believes bonus points will make the league more exciting.
What Critics Say
On the other hand, critics point out that Net Run Rate already rewards teams for big wins. They feel bonus points are not needed. They also worry that one match could decide the standings unfairly.
Hello @cricketaakash sir, here are my thoughts on this topic of bonus points in IPL. I have been meaning to post this for a while, I am sure it will add a different perspective. https://t.co/7hTBJtVmpc pic.twitter.com/W8BkITPdBu

With only a few matches left before the playoffs, the debate is getting louder. The top four teams will soon battle in the qualifiers, and every point matters.
