Debut Hero Manav Suthar Shines as India Crush Afghanistan by Innings and 300 Runs
India have recorded their biggest-ever innings victory, thrashing Afghanistan by a massive innings and 300 runs inside just three days in Mullanpur. The win was powered by a sensational bowling display from India’s spinners, headlined by debutant Manav Suthar.
Starting Day 3 at 113 for 5, still 451 runs behind India’s huge total of 564 for 8 declared, Afghanistan had a mountain to climb. Rahmat Shah fought hard for his 60, but once he fell, the visitors collapsed quickly.
Suthar was the star of the show, picking up 6 wickets for just 33 runs in the first innings. Pacer Prasidh Krishna also chipped in early on Day 3 to set the tone. Afghanistan were bowled out for just 152.
India asked Afghanistan to bat again, and this time the visitors showed some fight at the start. Openers Abdul Malik and Sediqullah Atal put on 42 runs. Atal played aggressively, scoring 42, while Gurbaz smashed a quick 24 off 24 balls.
But once Kuldeep Yadav broke their partnership, the wheels fell off. Washington Sundar ran through the middle order, taking 4 for 36, while Kuldeep finished with 3 for 30. Afghanistan were bowled out for just 112 in their second innings.
