Shahbaz Ahmed is a resilient left-arm spinning allrounder whose journey from Mewat, Haryana, to the international stage is a story of determination and adaptability. Moving to Kolkata in 2015 to pursue club cricket, he transformed himself from a batter into a genuine allrounder, honing his left-arm orthodox bowling alongside his left-handed batting. After an initial setback in Ranji Trophy cricket, he made a strong comeback for Bengal in the 2019-20 season, scoring 509 runs and taking 35 wickets. His IPL journey began with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2020, and he has since featured for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants. Shahbaz made his ODI debut against South Africa in 2022 and added a T20I cap in 2023, playing a role in India’s gold medal-winning campaign at the Hangzhou Asian Games. His ability to contribute with both bat and ball makes him a valuable utility player in any lineup.
