Milton Shumba is a promising left-handed top-order batter and useful left-arm spinner who has been a regular feature in Zimbabwe’s age-group and senior setups. The 25-year-old from Chitungwiza represented Zimbabwe in three Under-19 World Cups (2016, 2018, and 2020), showcasing his potential from a young age. He made his T20 debut before turning 16 and his first-class debut a year later, scoring 61 in his maiden innings for Rising Stars. A string of consistent performances, including an unbeaten 121 for Tuskers, earned him a call-up to the Zimbabwe squad for a white-ball tour of Pakistan in November 2020, where he made his T20I debut. He went on to make his Test debut against Pakistan in April 2021 and his ODI debut later that year against Ireland in Belfast. Shumba has developed into a reliable batter in domestic cricket, with three first-class centuries and over 1,500 runs at an average of 34.56, while also contributing with his left-arm spin. He was part of Zimbabwe’s squad at the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia.
