The 27-year-old right-hander, who also keeps wickets, showed his pedigree early, making Grey High School’s first team at just 14 and representing South Africa’s Under-19 side by 16. After a steady rise through the domestic ranks, he truly announced himself in the 2022-23 season, topping the CSA four-day first-class competition with over 600 runs at an average above 60. Breetzke has since become a T20 force, finishing as the third-highest run-scorer in the SA20 in 2024 and impressing in England’s Vitality Blast with Northamptonshire. His international breakthrough came with a T20I debut against Australia in September 2023, and he made ODI history by becoming the first player to score 150 on debut.
