Father: Faquir Gul, Son: Zain Fakhar
Fakhar Zaman is one of Pakistan’s most explosive white-ball openers, known for his raw power, high backlift, and ability to single-handedly dismantle bowling attacks. The 36-year-old from Mardan spent over five years on Pakistan’s domestic circuit with little recognition before a breakthrough Quaid-e-Azam Trophy season in 2016-17, where he scored 663 runs at an average of 51. His international arrival was nothing short of sensational—making his ODI debut during the 2017 Champions Trophy, he scored scores of 31, 50, 57, and a match-winning 114 in the final against India to power Pakistan to a famous victory. Since then, Fakhar has become a Lahore Qalandars legend in the PSL, the second-highest run-getter in the league’s history with a strike rate in the 140s. His ODI record is packed with breathtaking innings, including a 193 against South Africa, an unbeaten 210—Pakistan’s highest individual ODI score—and a crucial 126 against New Zealand in the 2023 World Cup. While injuries have affected him in recent years, Fakhar remains one of Pakistan’s most feared white-ball batters, his front-leg clear and hoick over long-on among the most iconic sights in Pakistani cricket.
