New Zealand | All Rounder
Father: Dennis Foxcroft
Dean Foxcroft is a powerful middle-order batter and off-spin bowling allrounder who has taken an unconventional path to international cricket. The 28-year-old was born in Pretoria and represented South Africa at the 2016 Under-19 World Cup before moving to New Zealand, where he has since established himself as a key player. His journey was nearly derailed when the Covid-19 pandemic locked him out of New Zealand for two years after he returned home to visit family, but he persevered and eventually qualified for the Black Caps under the ICC’s “exceptional circumstances” criteria. Foxcroft made his international debut in 2023 and has impressed across formats, highlighted by a near-century of 98 on his Test debut against Ireland. A prolific domestic performer, he was named New Zealand’s domestic player of the year after a productive 2022-23 season and captained Otago before stepping down to focus on his game. With a strong List A record of nearly 2,000 runs and 40 wickets, Foxcroft has proven himself as a genuine allrounder.
