Australia | All Rounder
Father Name: Rod Webster, Mother: Tina Webster, Wife: Madeleine Lodge
Beau Webster is a towering allrounder from Tasmania who took the scenic route to international cricket, making his Test debut at age 31 after a decade of first-class cricket. The 194cm right-hander from the small town of Snug has been a versatile performer, batting everywhere from No. 1 to No. 8 for Tasmania before settling at No. 6, and has developed into a complete allrounder since switching from off-spin to medium pace during the Covid-19 pandemic. His breakout 2023-24 Sheffield Shield season was extraordinary, topping the run charts with 938 runs at 58.62 while also taking 30 wickets at 29.30, making him just the second player after Sir Garfield Sobers to achieve the 900-run, 30-wicket double in a Shield season. That remarkable campaign earned him county cricket opportunities and eventually a call-up to Australia A, where performances against India A propelled him into Australia’s Test squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He made his Test debut in the fifth Test in Sydney, finally earning the national cap his consistent domestic excellence had long deserved.
