Arundhati Reddy is a right-arm medium-fast bowler who has represented India Women across multiple World Cups and established herself as a reliable seam-bowling option. The 29-year-old from Hyderabad started playing cricket at the age of 12, encouraged by her mother, a former semi-professional volleyball player—who enrolled her in a cricket academy. Initially idolizing MS Dhoni and aspiring to be a wicketkeeper, Reddy was guided by coaches to focus on seam bowling, a decision that shaped her career. She made her India debut in 2018 and featured regularly in T20Is through 2021, including the T20 World Cups in 2018 and 2020. After a period away from the national side, Reddy switched from Railways to Kerala in 2023-24 on the advice of former India women’s fielding coach Biju George, and made her international comeback in 2024. A couple of successful seasons with Delhi Capitals in the Women’s Premier League helped her force her way back into the national reckoning, cementing her place as a valuable seam-bowling allrounder.
