Arshdeep Singh is one of just three Indian bowlers, alongside Jhulan Goswami and Ajit Agarkar, to bowl a maiden over on their T20I debut. Known for his sharp yorkers and bowling over 140kph, Arshdeep made his international debut in England in 2022. Before that, he was part of India’s 2018 Under-19 World Cup-winning squad and had a breakthrough year with strong performances in domestic cricket and the IPL.
Despite a quiet start in the IPL, Arshdeep established himself with 18 wickets in 2021 and 17 in 2023 for Punjab Kings. He impressed on the international stage with key wickets during the 2022 T20 Asia Cup and emerged as India’s leading wicket-taker in the 2022 T20 World Cup. Notably, in the tournament opener against Pakistan, he took crucial wickets with his first two balls.
In ODIs, after a wicketless start in 2022, Arshdeep shone in 2023 by taking a five-wicket haul against South Africa, playing a major role in India’s series win with 10 wickets at an economy rate of 3.51.
