Battlefield 6 is finally giving solo players what they have been asking for. Battlefield Studios has confirmed that the Battlefield 6 Redsec Solo Mode will be available to test from March 6 to March 9 inside Battlefield Labs. The limited-time test will be open to all players, with no application or NDA required.
REDSEC, the free-to-play battle royale counterpart to Battlefield 6, launched without a solo option. After many months since its launch and numerous requests for an option to allow players to compete against each other in what is essentially a “battle royale,” the studio is finally ready to determine how viable a true one-versus-everyone game can actually be.
How Battlefield 6 REDSEC Solo Mode Changes the Battle Royale Formula

Battlefield 6 REDSEC Solo Mode can bring the same intense battle royale experience to solo players who prefer to not recruit or team as a squad of 4 but continue to enjoy all aspects of the game without the squad mechanic. The game has been redesigned for an individual player to complete, instead of a squad of players.
If you die, you will no longer have any ability to be revived (therefore cannot use the revive mechanic or redeploy from a redeploy tower). That said, players will have access to the Second Chance feature in a solo environment, allowing you one more final chance to complete your mission and not be eliminated from the game.
The Battlefield 6 REDSEC Solo Mode missions have also been redesigned for an individual player and rewards will be adjusted to reflect this. In addition, players will be able to earn Class Training Path XP altogether differently than in the regular squad environment. Players will have a more realistic progression rate that will not be as affected by other players.
All vehicles will remain unlocked, including tanks. Battlefield Studios wants to evaluate how much heavy armor and transport vehicles influence solo pacing and late game balance. This data will inform how they possibly evolve the mode.
Players are welcome to stream and clip their experiences with no restrictions. Battlefield Studios will be investing time and resources into collecting community feedback through after-match surveys directly from the main menu of the game as they consider future changes to improve the solo mode.
Season 2 Updates, Nightfall, and REDSEC Map Changes

The solo test lands shortly after Season 2 introduced Contaminated, a new map praised for its flanking routes and vehicle interplay. Battlefield Studios has been actively monitoring feedback on movement, progression pacing, and Portal stability.
On REDSEC, Fort Lyndon is continuing to increase the amount of usable space below ground through a new Permanent Point of Interest (PPOI). In the next update, this area will contain higher tier loot to attract more players to visit it. Entrance entrances will be marked by green smoke, updated loot container graphics will denote reward tier levels.
Looking ahead, Nightfall will introduce a darker battlefield experience. Reduced sightlines, heavier reliance on audio cues, and the addition of night vision goggles are expected to change how squads move and communicate.
Until then, all of the attention will be on the Battlefield 6 REDSEC Solo Test. The test runs from March 6 to March 9.
