Pakistan Women to Face Sri Lanka in July-August White-Ball Series
Cricket fans have another exciting series to look forward to. Pakistan’s women’s team will tour Sri Lanka for a white-ball series in July and August this year. Sri Lanka Cricket confirmed the news on Wednesday, June 10.
The tour will include three ODIs and three T20Is. The matches will all be played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota.
Here is the full schedule-
ODIs
- July 23 – First ODI
- July 25 – Second ODI
- July 28 – Third ODI
T20Is
- July 31 – First T20I
- August 2 – Second T20I
- August 4 – Third T20I
Important Series for World Cup Points
The ODI matches are part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2025-29 cycle. That means every win matters. These points help teams qualify for future World Cups.
Right now, Pakistan sits second in the standings with eight points from six matches. Sri Lanka is third with four wins and eight points as well. So both teams are very close. This series could shake up the rankings.
If we look at history, the two teams have played 21 T20Is so far. Pakistan has won 11, Sri Lanka has won nine, and one match ended with no result. In ODIs, they have met 34 times. Sri Lanka has the upper hand with 22 wins, while Pakistan has won 11. One match had no result.
This tour starts soon after the Women’s T20 World Cup in the UK. Both teams will hope to carry good form into this important series.
