IPL 2026 Final to Be Held in Ahmedabad on May 31, Playoffs Across Three Venues

IPL

The IPL 2026 playoff schedule is out. The final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 31.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to hold the playoff matches across three venues as a special case. This is because of some operational and logistical reasons.

Here is how the playoff matches will be set up-

Qualifier 1 will be held on May 26 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. The top two teams from the points table will play this match. The winner goes straight to the final.

The Eliminator will be played on May 27 at the New International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh (Mullanpur). The teams ranked third and fourth will face each other.

Qualifier 2 will also be held at the same venue in New Chandigarh on May 29. This match will be played between the winner of the Eliminator and the loser of Qualifier 1.

The Final is set for May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Last season, the playoffs were held at only two venues. New Chandigarh hosted Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator, while Ahmedabad hosted Qualifier 2 and the final.

The last league match of IPL 2026 will be played on May 24. Qualifier 1 will start two days later on May 26.
