No Truth in Dhoni Leaving CSK Rumour, Say Fans
A new rumour is going around that MS Dhoni might leave Chennai Super Kings after IPL 2026. But fans are not buying it.
The rumour started on a cricket blog. It claimed that Dhoni is unhappy because the team made some big player trades without asking him. One such trade sent Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to Rajasthan Royals and brought Sanju Samson to CSK in November 2025. The rumour also said CSK wants to build a younger team.

But Dhoni is not even playing in IPL 2026. He has a calf strain and is sitting out the season. He is still with the team, supporting captain Ruturaj Gaikwad from the sidelines. This is his 17th season with CSK.
Fans are calling the rumour fake. They point out that MS Dhoni is the team’s Vice President and his family is often seen at matches. One fan joked, “A 46-year-old man will move for two balls?” meaning he is settled and happy where he is.
So far, there is no official word from CSK or Dhoni himself. Until then, most fans believe the rumour is just noise.
