Suryakumar Yadav (SKY) is one of T20 cricket’s most inventive batters, famed for his 360-degree strokeplay and comparisons to AB de Villiers. His game flourished with Mumbai Indians (MI) from 2018, scoring 1700+ runs at a strike rate of around 140 and winning two IPL titles.
After a stellar domestic debut in 2010, highlighted by 754 runs in his second Ranji season, SKY’s early IPL years with KKR (2014–2017) brought modest returns. A return to MI in 2018 marked his breakthrough, with 512 runs, and his best came in 2023; 605 runs at 181.14 SR.
Making his India debut in 2021, he hit his first T20I ball (from Jofra Archer) for six, scored two fifties in his first three innings, and smashed 117 off 55 against England in 2022. SKY’s journey is one of late-blooming brilliance, fearless batting, and match-winning impact in both IPL and international cricket.
