Tomb Mistveil Prison Guide: All 19 Chest Locations in Where Winds Meet

Where Winds Meet Guide

Look, whether you’re grinding the competitive ladder or trying to build an eSports news site from scratch, time is your most valuable asset. You need to balance the short-term loot with long-term character gains. Tomb Mistveil Prison gives you both.

Added in the 1.2 update, Tomb Mistveil Prison is a convoluted, trap-filled Divinecraft Dungeon in Where Winds Meet that heavily tests your map awareness. If you walk in blind, you are going to get caught by the Lady in Red or crushed by a ceiling trap.

Here is your no-nonsense, straight-to-the-point guide to clearing out all 18 optional chests and securing the Final Treasure.

The Tomb Mistveil Prison Overview

Feature Details
Location Mistveil Forest, Kaifeng
Clear Rewards 27,000 EXP, 25x Echo Jade, 18,000 Coins, 2x Medicinal Tales, 1x Ebony Bone
Core Gimmick 1 The Spinning Room: A pressure plate changes the dungeon layout based on four icons (Bull, Walking Man, Fish, Miner).
Core Gimmick 2 The Lady in Red: An unkillable stalker. Getting close fills a “Fear: The Unknown” bar. If it maxes out, you die instantly.
Total Loot 18 Optional Chests, 1 Final Treasure Chest

Before you step foot inside, you need to have completed The Ephemeral Blight and the prerequisite Mist-Shrouded Prison dungeon. You will also want the Celestial Seize and Still Waters abilities equipped. Wind Sense is blocked here, so you are entirely reliant on your own eyes.

The Golden Rule: The Spinning RoomWhere Winds Meet

You will find a central room with a pressure plate and a crack in the wall. Stepping on the plate rotates the dungeon layout, indicated by an icon visible through the crack.

  • Bull: Opens the Red Altar room.
  • Walking Man: Alters the starting area and adds extra traps.
  • Fish: Spawns a new tunnel system and disables some traps.
  • Miner: Opens the path to the final sequence.

All 18 Optional Chest Locations

I have grouped these by the path of least resistance so you aren’t running in circles.

The Default Phase (First Run)

  • Chest 1: From your spawn cell, head left, go down the elevator, and drop down the ledge. Crawl through the half-circle hole. The chest is at the end. Prepare for a rat ambush and the floor caving in.
  • Chest 2: After falling, kill the rats and walk straight into the foggy room to find the chest among broken cages.
  • Chest 3: Turn around, take the left tunnel up the ladder. Climb the broken wall, walk across the wooden beams, and drop onto the suspended cage holding the chest.
  • Chest 4: Go back up the broken wall, climb the ladder to the headless statue. Do not step on the pressure plate. Jump onto the statue’s left leg to grab the chest safely.
  • Chest 5: Enter the next room with the falling ceiling spikes. Time your dash to the second lit alcove on the left to snag the chest.
  • Chest 6: Past the spikes, go right into a large debris room. Defeat the giant rat hiding on the left to secure the chest.
    The Bull Phase
  • Chest 7: Hit the central pressure plate until the Bull icon shows. Enter the Red Altar room. Loot the chest, but run immediately—the Lady in Red spawns the second you open it.

The Walking Man Phase

  • Chest 8: Spin to the Walking Man. Go down the vertical drop in the Red Altar room. Climb the ladder, look away from the Lady in Red to despawn her, and grab the chest near the open casket at the end of the hall.
  • Chest 13: Head back to the dungeon’s starting area (where the kneeling men were). Crawl through the hole in the wall.
  • Chest 15: Go to the ceiling spike room. Dash to the far end to claim this chest. Watch out for a newly activated projectile trap before the stairs.

The Fish Phase

  • Chest 9: Spin to the Fish. Drop down the Red Altar room again. Flee from the Lady in Red at the top of the ladder, survive the ambush, and return to your starting spawn cell to find this chest.
  • Chest 10: Go exactly where you found Chest 1. The floor won’t cave in this time.
  • Chest 11: Head to the room below the suspended wooden cages. The chest is at the foot of the ladder in the left tunnel.
  • Chest 12: Go to where Chest 2 originally was. Drop down the massive hole, kill the giant rat, and climb the ladder for the loot.
  • Chest 14: Head to the ceiling spike room (spikes are disabled in this phase). Go up the stairs on the right. Loot the chest at the Red Altar and immediately juke the Lady in Red as she enters the room.

The Miner Phase

  • Chest 16: Spin to the Miner. Right outside the pressure plate room, look right. The chest is in the rubble near a metal grate.
  • Chest 17: Enter the Red Altar room and take the elevator down. Do not move; the chest is directly in front of you at the bottom.
  • Chest 18: Activate the same elevator to go back up, but immediately roll off. Drop into the revealed hole, climb down the ladder, and turn right to find the final optional chest.

How to Get the Final Treasure

Stay on the Miner configuration. From Chest 18, continue down the hallway and climb down the next ladder. You will land back on the walkway near the suspended cages.

The red casket here will now have a lid. Walk up to it and select the “Rest in peace” interaction. A notification will pop up saying the mist has lifted.

Backtrack all the way to the dungeon’s starting area. The room with the kneeling men will be empty and the mist will be cleared.
Walk through the newly opened doorway flanked by burning braziers to claim your Final Treasure and complete the dungeon.

FAQs

Q. Do I actually have to get all 18 chests to finish the dungeon?

No. You can skip straight to the Miner configuration, put the casket to rest, and grab the Final Treasure. However, leaving 18 chests behind means leaving a massive chunk of upgrade materials on the table. Take the extra 15 minutes; it’s worth the grind.

Q. The “Fear: The Unknown” bar is filling up too fast. How do I clear it?

Distance and line of sight. The Lady in Red only builds the meter when you are close and looking her way. If you encounter her in a hallway, quickly look at the wall or floor and run past her. If she spawns on a chest, grab it and immediately sprint away until the debuff fades.

Q. If I die to a trap, do I lose my chest progress?

No, you keep what you looted. However, you will be sent back to the start of the dungeon (or the Hero’s Tomb if you activated it near the elevator). You will just have to leg it back to wherever you were.
