Epic Games is back with Rick & Morty in Fortnite! This time they’re bringing Pickle Rick, one of the show’s funniest jokes, as a playable character. The Pickle Rick outfit has been added as part of Rick & Morty Wave 3 cosmetics in Chapter 7, Season 1 of Fortnite, and will eventually be available in the Item Shop.
Epic is offering a way for players to get Pickle Rick for free through a limited-time competitive event where the top players will receive the outfit and other rewards. Here’s how to get your hands on Fortnite Pickle Rick skin!
Fortnite Pickle Rick Cup Explained

To receive the Fortnite Pickle Rick skin at no cost, players must enter the Pickle Rick Cup. The Cup is a solo (single-player) battle royale tournament created by Epic Games, and is open to all players to compete on Mar 6th, 2026. Players will receive an opportunity to play a maximum of 10 matches in a 3-hour time period, during which they will earn points based upon the number of eliminations they acquire and how well they place in the tournament.
Players will receive 2 points for each elimination. Players can earn additional points for their placement in the tournament as well. For example, if a player takes 1st place, they will earn 59 points; whereas, if a player takes 2nd place, they will earn 52 points.
The rules for this tournament are consistent with the competitive format that is used with many other Fortnite tournaments. Eligible participants must be 13 years of age or older, have two-factor authentication enabled on their Epic Games account and also be at least level 50 on the Epic Games account to compete.
To play in the tournament, players must go to the Compete tab in Fortnite and find the Pickle Rick Cup playlist in that tab while the tournament is occurring.
Placement Rewards and When the Skin Releases in the Item Shop

Only the highest ranked players in each region will receive the Pickle Rick cosmetics for free. The required placements vary depending on the region you play in.
To get the Pickle Rick Skin or the Pickle Rick Pack, EU players must place in the top 2350 for that area, while the top 900 players of NA Central will also receive the same reward. The top players of NA West and Brazil must be among the top 400, and players of Asia, ME, and Oceanic regions are to be among the top 250.
Even if players do not reach those placements, there is still a smaller reward available. Anyone who reaches at least 80 points during the tournament will unlock the Pickle Rick spray.
If players do not play in the tournament or do not place among the required top players, they can eventually obtain the skin after tournaments are played. Epic has now stated that the Fortnite Pickle Rick skin will be available for purchase in the Fortnite Item Shop beginning at the daily reset time on March 6, alongside another Rick Prime cosmetic. Therefore, to get the Pickle Rick Skin one more time, players will have to purchase the V-Bucks.
