Verma, Putthawong and Oza Nominated for ICC Women’s Player of the Month for November
The ICC has announced the three nominees for the Women’s Player of the Month award for November, celebrating match-winning performances in a historic World Cup final and a global emerging nations tournament.
1. Shafali Verma (India)
The explosive opener delivered a career-defining all-round performance in the ICC Women’s World Cup final in Mumbai, propelling India to their maiden title. In her sole ODI of the month, she smashed 87 runs off 78 balls and claimed two crucial wickets, including those of Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp, to earn the Player of the Match award in the championship decider.
2. Thipatcha Putthawong (Thailand)
The left-arm spinner was instrumental in Thailand’s triumphant ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy campaign. She finished as the joint-leading wicket-taker with 15 scalps, showcasing remarkable control and a knack for breaking partnerships. Her four-wicket haul in the final against Scotland was pivotal in securing the title for her nation.
3. Esha Oza (UAE)
The UAE all-rounder enjoyed a prolific month, earning the Player of the Tournament award at the Emerging Nations Trophy. In seven T20Is, she amassed 187 runs at a strike rate of 137.50 and also contributed seven wickets at an average of 18.14. Her standout performance was an unbeaten 68 and two wickets against Namibia, underscoring her all-round match-winning ability.
