India A Squad Announced for Sri Lanka One-Day Tri-Series; Tilak Varma to Lead
The Indian selectors have named a 15-member India A squad for the upcoming one-day tri-series in Sri Lanka. The tournament will be played in June 2026 and will also feature the A teams of Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
Tilak Varma will captain the side, with Riyan Parag as his deputy. The squad is a mix of young talent and players who have performed well in the recent IPL season.
Several exciting young players have made the cut. Priyansh Arya, Anshul Kamboj, and Suryansh Shedge are among those who have impressed in the IPL. The selectors have also picked two wicketkeepers in Prabhsimran Singh and Kumar Kushagra.
The bowling attack includes Yash Thakur, Yudhvir Singh, Arshad Khan, and Vipraj Nigam. All-rounders like Nishant Sindhu and Harsh Dubey add balance to the side.
The tri-series will begin on June 9. Sri Lanka A will take on India A in the opening match. The tournament will follow a double round-robin format. Every team will play each other twice. The top two teams will meet in the final on June 21.
All matches will be played in Dambulla.
After the one-day series, India A will also play two multi-day matches against Sri Lanka A. Those red-ball games will be held in Galle. The squad for those matches will be announced later.
This tour is a great chance for these players to show their skills in international A level cricket. It will also help them prepare for higher levels of the game.
