Bangladesh’s Litton Das Ruled Out of Zimbabwe ODIs With Hamstring Injury

Litton Das

Bangladesh have suffered a blow ahead of the remaining ODIs against Zimbabwe. Opener Litton Kumar Das has been ruled out of the series after failing to recover from a hamstring injury.

Litton had already missed the first ODI. He underwent a fitness test but the results were not good enough. Team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan confirmed the news, saying, “With back-to-back ODIs coming up, we don’t think he will make sufficient progress to play any part in the series.”

Left-handed batter Parvez Hossain Emon has been called up as his replacement. He will join the squad for the second and third ODIs. Litton, meanwhile, will return to Dhaka to continue his rehabilitation.

Bangladesh are trailing the three-match series 0-1 after losing the opener. The remaining matches are scheduled for July 9 and 11 in Harare.

Litton is also expected to miss the T20I series that follows. He is due to take part in the upcoming Lanka Premier League and will focus on recovering from that.
