Afghanistan Names 22-Member Asia Cup Squad, Confident in Rashid Khan’s Comeback
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced a 22-player preliminary squad for the 2025 Asia Cup, with star spinner Rashid Khan leading the team. Despite a quieter IPL season, ACB officials trust Rashid to regain form and perform strongly in the tournament starting September 9 in the UAE.
Before the Asia Cup, Afghanistan will hold a two-week training camp and play a tri-nation T20 series against UAE and Pakistan. The squad features a mix of experienced players and promising newcomers, including new fast bowlers Abdullah Ahmadzai and Bashir Ahmad, and strong spinners alongside Rashid.
