IPL 2025: Gujarat Titans Sign Dasun Shanaka as Replacement of Glenn Phillips
Gujarat Titans have bolstered their squad for the ongoing IPL 2025 season by signing Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka as a replacement for the injured Glenn Phillips. Phillips, acquired at a base price of ₹2 Crore, was ruled out for the season due to a groin injury without playing a single match for the Titans.
Shanaka, a seasoned campaigner with 102 T20Is for Sri Lanka, returns to the Titans after a brief stint with the franchise in 2023, where he featured in three games. The 33-year-old joins the squad at his base price of ₹75 Lakh, bringing his explosive batting and handy medium-pace bowling to the fore. His experience and versatility are expected to add depth to the Titans’ lineup as they navigate the competitive IPL season.
Fans are eager to see if Shanaka can make an impact and help Gujarat Titans turn their campaign around. With the tournament in full swing, all eyes will be on the Sri Lankan star’s contribution.
