Shah Rukh Khan Unveils KKR’s $21 Million Cricket Stadium in Los Angeles
Hollywood and Bollywood came together in California. Shah Rukh Khan, the co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, opened a brand-new cricket stadium in Pomona, just outside Los Angeles.
The Knight Riders Cricket Ground cost $21 million to build. It is a historic moment — the first stadium ever built and run by a cricket team ownership group in the US. The ground already has ICC-standard boundaries and can seat 5,000 fans. By the 2028 Olympics, it will expand to hold 15,000 people.
What started as a dream… turns into reality today.
Welcoming you all to the Knight Riders Cricket Ground, LA.
A place built not just for sports but also entertainment and for families… and memories that last forever.
Special thanks to Jaybhai who has been too kind through… pic.twitter.com/5WEBSEHyOh

Cricket is growing fast in America. Major League Cricket is now in its 2026 season, and the LA Knight Riders are one of the teams. The stadium will also host T20 matches during the 2028 LA Olympics.
The LA Knight Riders played their first home match at the venue against Washington Freedom. Fans waved purple-and-gold flags, cheering loudly. For Shah Rukh, it was a proud moment. For cricket, it was a big step forward.
The Knight Riders brand is now not just in Kolkata. It’s also in the Caribbean, South Africa, and now America. With this new stadium, the purple and gold have found a new home.
