India Pacer to Miss Ireland and England T20Is

Mohammed siraj

Mohammed Siraj is getting some well-deserved time off. The BCCI confirmed on Tuesday (June 9) that the fast bowler has been rested for the upcoming T20I tours to Ireland and England.

It’s all about workload management. The team doesn’t want to burn him out before a long and busy season ahead. The BCCI medical team and the management sat down together and decided that Siraj needs a break.

“The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure adequate recovery ahead of a long international season,” the BCCI said in a statement.

Prasidh Krishna will step in. The right-arm pacer was part of the Indian Test XI that hammered Afghanistan in the one-off Test in Mullanpur, which finished on Monday. Both Siraj and Prasidh played in that match.

Siraj, on the other hand, had a busy IPL season. He played all 17 games for Gujarat Titans and picked up 19 wickets.

This is a golden opportunity for Prasidh. He has played only five T20Is for India so far, and all of them came back in 2023. Even though he won the Purple Cap in IPL 2025, he wasn’t part of India’s T20 World Cup-winning squad earlier this year.

Now, he gets another shot to prove himself in blue.

India will first play two T20Is in Ireland on June 26 and 28. Then they fly to England for five T20Is and three ODIs. It’s a packed schedule, and the team wants everyone fresh and ready.

For now, Mohammed Siraj can put his feet up. And Prasidh has a chance to make his mark.
