Owning a mansion in GTA Online is now possible thanks to the A Safehouse in the Hills update. These properties are the largest safehouses ever added to the game, giving you more space, better security, and new tools that support your businesses.
Mansions are expensive, but if you’ve saved enough money or completed the lead-up missions, you can finally buy one and turn it into the center of your operations.
How to Get a Mansion in GTA Online?
You can buy mansions directly from your in-game phone. To see the three properties currently available, open Money and Services, then select Prix Luxury Real Estate. You do not need to visit any building in person. The entire process is done from your phone.
Each mansion has a base price that changes depending on the location:
- The Tongva Estate is located in Tongva Hills and costs $11,500,000.
- In East Vinewood Hills is the Vinewood Residence for $12,200,000.
- Lastly, there’s the Richman Villa, which costs $12,800,000 and is in West Vinewood Hills.
If you completed New Listing Missions before the December 7 deadline, Rockstar automatically gave you a $2,000,000 discount on each mansion, which is applied once you access the real estate website.
You can access the property for the first time on your map after purchase and it can be used at leisure, without load screens.
What a Mansion Gives You in GTA Online?
Mansions in GTA Online serve a purpose beyond being a large safe house. Once the gate opens, a cut scene will not play, and you’ll be free to explore the whole building as you like.
Other players can’t visit, but you’ll be safe from any outside threats, and the interior has been customized to include a spacious multi-floor layout, complete with a garage and some utility rooms.
Every mansion includes:
- 20-car garage
- A protected exterior that other players cannot freely enter
- A home assistant who handles certain tasks
- A management tablet that lets you interact with your other properties
You can also upgrade the property with optional rooms:
- Armory – $720,000
- Arcade corner – $950,000
- Podium display room – $650,000
- Vehicle workshop – $880,000
- Security team – $1,750,000 (protects your mansion and reduces raids on your businesses)
These upgrades are not required, but they turn the mansion into a full operations hub. If you run multiple businesses or store many cars, the extra features make a noticeable difference.
Is Buying a Mansion Worth It?
A mansion is worth buying only if you already earn money consistently. These properties are extremely expensive and are not designed for beginners. If you want extra garage space, faster access to your businesses, or simply enjoy high-end housing, a mansion delivers all of that.
If money is tight, you can skip the purchase. All the new update missions are still available even if you don’t own a mansion.
Best Mansion to Buy in GTA Online
The Vinewood Residence is the most practical mansion overall. It costs slightly more than the Tongva property, but its position on the map makes life easier. It sits close to the Diamond Casino and many central Los Santos businesses, reducing travel time whenever you move between jobs.
Tongva Estate is much quieter and more isolated, but the distance from the city slows down your routine. Richman Villa has the highest price tag, and while it is in a premium area, it does not offer a major advantage over Vinewood.
