Defeat Heartseeker in Where Winds Meet

Heartseeker is one of the earliest major bosses you face in Where Winds Meet, but she is also one of the most aggressive. With fast scythe combos, teleporting strikes, and deadly lightning attacks, this fight can overwhelm you if you don’t know what to expect. Here is a full breakdown of where to find her, how each phase works, and the best ways to survive.

Where to Find Heartseeker in Where Winds Meet?

You first encounter Heartseeker during the Still Shore section of the main story. This takes place during the quest “A Horse Neighs in the Forest.” When you finish the Still Shore dungeon, she shows up as the final test.

Once you defeat her for the plot, she is made available to you as a Campaign Boss forever. You can go back to the location on the map where you marked and pay 20 Energy to challenge her once more in order to receive better rewards which are reliant on your World Level.

How to Defeat Heartseeker in Where Winds Meet?

1. Rely on Tombstones for Protection in Phase 2

If you look closely at the perimeter of the arena, you would see many stone tablets. These are not just for show — they are still the only buffer you have against her most lethal move.

During Phase 2, Heartseeker calls forth a storm of red lightning which might wipe you out in one shot if you are caught in the open. She will rise up and start charging her scythe, at this point you should quickly run to a tombstone and wait there till the blast gets over.

Just to clarify: the stones are destructible as soon as Phase 2 begins, so do not take cover behind them too soon.

2. Learn to Parry Her Close-Range Attacks

Heartseeker swings a huge scythe that covers a lot of space, but the upside is that her motions are slow and predictable.

Most of her Phase 1 attacks can be parried safely if you watch her wind-up animations. Parrying lowers her Qi bar, and once it empties, you can perform an Execute for huge damage.

Stay alert, though — many of her attacks turn into multi-hit chains, so be ready to parry two or three strikes back-to-back.

3. Counter Her Projectiles With Meridian Touch

Heartseeker often summons three glowing orbs that float for a moment before shooting toward you. Dodging works, but using Meridian Touch is much better.

Meridian Touch instantly cancels the attack and knocks Heartseeker to the ground, giving you several seconds of free hits.

Heartseeker’s Key Attacks in Where Winds Meet

Phase 1

Teleport Slash

She disappears into red mist and reappears near you, usually at your side or behind you. As soon as she vanishes, get ready to dodge or parry the follow-up slash.

Dash Strike

She crouches slightly and springs forward with an upward sweep. Move sideways or parry the moment she lunges.

Spin Attack

A red flash on her weapon warns you this is an unblockable grab move. Jump back or time a parry right after the spin starts.

Left–Right Combo

She swings in front, then dashes to finish the combo. Dodge forward through the first slash so you end up behind her and avoid both hits.

Phase 2

Crimson Lightning Burst (One-Shot Move)

This is the attack that forces you to hide behind tombstones. If you’re caught in the open, you won’t survive.

Five-Hit Combo

All five strikes glow red. You must parry each one or run far back before she reaches you.

Red Mist Explosion

When she floats upward and a mist spreads around her, move away fast — the blast hits repeatedly.

Thunder Orbs

Three red orbs shoot forward. Dodge to the side or cancel them using Meridian Touch.

Leap Strike

She jumps up, then crashes down. A heavy attack while she is in the air will knock her out of the move.

Best Companion to Bring

Yuan Jin’Gang is the strongest companion for this fight.

His ranged Qi attacks help drain her stamina and can interrupt her charged abilities. He also stays safe during Phase 2’s lightning storm, making him useful throughout the entire fight. Your first story victory gives you a large amount of Echo Jade, coins, and upgrade items.
