How to Unlock the Home Base Feature in Where Winds Meet?

Home Base Feature in Where Winds Meet

Having your own home base in Where Winds Meet is one of the best parts of the game. It gives you a place to build, craft, grow resources, and later turn your land into a working business. The good news is that you can unlock this feature pretty early in your journey, but you must finish a specific quest before the building system becomes available.

This guide explains exactly how you unlock your home base, how the first building quest works, and what you can do once your Construction Mode becomes active.

How to Unlock the Home Base Feature in Where Winds Meet?

You unlock building by completing a quest called “Building: One Last Job.” This quest takes place on Halo Peak and appears under the Exploration tab in your Journal.

Most players get it sometime between level 25 and level 40, though some unlock it right after finishing the Chapter One main boss. If you do not see the quest yet, keep leveling up and check your Journal again every few levels.

Once the quest shows up, track it and follow the marker to Halo Peak.

1. Meeting Yang Yuan and Starting the Quest

Atop Halo Peak, you will encounter Yang Yuan, a man struggling to repair a broken pagoda. Though he can’t offer you any payment, he assures you will learn the art of building from him.

The quest you are undertaking is nothing but the game’s building tutorial in disguise, hence all the actions you perform here will equip you for constructing your own house later on.

As soon as you speak to him, he first asks you for help and then leads you through the reconstruction process giving you detailed instructions.

2. Learning the Basics of Building

The only way to progress in the quest is by collecting some items and using them for parts of the pagoda which are to be rebuilt.

Your tasks will be:

  • Gather the most basic materials such as pebbles
  • Make a necessary stone piece using the crafting menu
  • Go into the Construction Mode for the very first time
  • Put the pagoda pieces in their proper places

The game highlights every button on your screen so prior building experience is not required at all. After you finish the repairs and have another talk with Yang Yuan, the quest is over and the building system becomes an everlasting feature.

The moment this happens the real home base feature is enabled.

How Construction Mode Works in Where Winds Meet?

After completing One Last Job, you gain access to Construction Mode, the main tool for creating your home base.

You open it using:

  • F4 on keyboard
  • Touchpad + R2 on controller

In the Construction Mode, walls, floors, roofs, windows, furniture, workshops, and whole prefab houses can all be arranged at the same time. It is possible to virtually build in any part of the earth as long as it is not a restricted area and you are playing in Solo Mode.

The controls are so straightforward that the screen shows all the necessary information for placement, rotation, removal, and adjustments.

Saving Your Base Layout

Once you have a base that you like, you are allowed to save the complete structure as a blueprint.

To perform this operation, you need to go to Construction Mode and use the tilde (~) key or L3 to open the blueprint menu. Then choose “Cradle Blueprint,” pick an empty slot, and maneuver the highlighted box over your building. The size can be altered before it is saved.

Blueprints make future builds faster because you can place a full design instantly wherever you want.

Your home base is more than a place to decorate. As you develop it, your land becomes a system that produces resources, money, and crafting materials. You can grow crops, run workshops, and create items like pottery or ink. You will also recruit NPC workers who gather materials and complete tasks for you, even when you are not around.
