The Inkwell Fan is one of the most stylish and flexible weapons you can use in Where Winds Meet. It lets you dodge projectiles, launch enemies into the air, and chain fast combos. But you cannot get it through normal shops or quests—you must break into a hidden sanctum, avoid guards, and steal the technique directly from its master.
This guide walks you through the full process step-by-step so you can unlock the Inkwell Fan without confusion.
How to Unlock the Inkwell Fan in Where Winds Meet?
1. Reach the Inkwell Fan Sanctum
The weapon is buried within the Inkwell Fan Sanctum, found in the north part of Qinghe. If this place is already familiar to you, then teleporting to the nearby courier station would be the quickest way to reach it.
After you get to the designated spot, talk to the Dragon Pillar at the gate. The Dragon Door opens only if you possess the Dragon Key, and the key will be gone right after you use it.
You must also have the Touch of Death mystic art before you can go in. This power allows you to silently take out guards in your path which is a must since some hallways in the sanctum are full of watchmen.
2. Move Through the Sanctum Safely
Once you gain entry, take the main tunnel to its end where the first military men are posted. It is not necessary to beat up all the people you encounter. Staying near the left wall will allow you to go unstopped past the first two.
- The farther you go the more groups of guards you will encounter. They will always be found around treasure chests.
- The placement of these chests is your map through the sanctum.
- Take out solitary guards with your silent kill and rely on the height of the platforms and the wall to remain unseen.
Several chests are placed on higher levels, so be ready to climb ledges and rock formations. One chest is hidden behind a short drop, and another sits beside a mound near a narrow bridge.
As long as you keep your distance and watch enemy movement, you can clear the route without raising an alarm.
3. Reach the Final Chamber
Make your way through the chests and the guards that are in your way and continue to walk until you are at the end of the room. This room is protected, but when you get by the entrance, the master will be there and he is the one who has the Martial Art needed to free the Inkwell Fan.
You have to pull off a Skill Theft to get it. So, move in slowly, watch for the right moment, and then carry out the theft. If the trial goes well, the Inkwell Fan is immediately to your possession.
One of the most important functions is its ability to generate a wind barrier that shields you from projectiles. So, its application in fights where the opponents that are relying on ranged attacks is considered and its movement skills are very fast which means the enemy position can be changed easily and then both safety and damage can be done.
