Rohit Sharma named as ICC Brand Ambassador for the Upcoming T20 World Cup 2026

There is great news for the fans of Hitman Rohit Sharma. Despite retiring from the T20 format, Rohit Sharma will be seen in the proceedings of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 as he has been named the ICC brand ambassador for this tournament.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah made this announcement during the announcement of the T20 World Cup schedule in Kolkata on Wednesday. The desired tournament will start from 7th February next year and will be played in India and Sri Lanka.


Rohit Sharma led India to the T20 World Cup title in 2024 before retiring from the format. The legendary batsman has won two T20 World Cup titles in his T20 career, the first in 2007 under MS Dhoni. Then it was won in 2024 by defeating South Africa in the final.

Apart from this, he has become the first active cricketer to be named the brand ambassador of the ICC tournament. The Indian Batter is currently active only in the ODI format and could be seen playing in the upcoming domestic tournaments to keep himself fit while keeping the ODI World Cup 2027 in mind.
