KKR and Chandrakant Pandit Part Ways After IPL Title and Disappointing 2025 Season

Chandrakant Pandit

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have officially ended their association with head coach Chandrakant Pandit following three seasons at the helm. Pandit, who took charge in August 2022 after Brendon McCullum’s exit, guided the franchise to its third IPL championship in 2024, ending a ten-year wait for the trophy under captain Shreyas Iyer’s leadership.

The franchise expressed gratitude for Pandit’s invaluable role in building a resilient team, highlighting his leadership and discipline as key factors in their success. Across his tenure, Pandit oversaw 42 matches, winning 22, losing 18, with two no-results.

However, the 2025 season was a stark contrast to the glory of the previous year. KKR struggled significantly, finishing eighth with only five wins in 14 league matches. Alongside Pandit, the team’s bowling coach Bharat Arun has also left the franchise.

Kolkata knight riders has yet to announce a successor, leaving fans and cricket insiders eager to see who will take the reins as the team looks to bounce back in upcoming campaigns.
