How LSG Can Qualify for Playoffs after losing Punjab?

Lucknow Super Giants

Despite poor performances, Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant hasn’t given up on IPL playoff hopes. He believes the team can bounce back in their last three matches. After losing to Punjab Kings, Lucknow sits seventh in the table with 10 points from 11 matches.

Disappointed by his team’s struggles, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant remains hopeful of a playoff berth. He insists his team can turn things around in their remaining three games. On Sunday, Punjab Kings defeated Lucknow by 37 runs due to yet another batting collapse. With just 10 points from 11 matches, LSG is seventh in the standings. Their net run rate (-0.47) is poor, and even three wins may not guarantee qualification.

After the match, Pant said, “The dream is still alive. If we win our next three games, things can change.” He admitted that chasing 236 was too steep and that their fielding was below par. “We conceded too many runs. Dropping catches at crucial moments costs you. We didn’t start well, but that happens.”

Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer said, “Everyone contributed at the right time, which was crucial.” Praising Prabhsimran Singh’s blistering 91 off 48 balls, he added, “The way he batted was outstanding. It was great to watch.” However, he acknowledged fielding lapses: “We must improve our fielding. It’s a key focus for upcoming matches.”

Lucknow faces a tough road ahead, while Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans, and Delhi Capitals lead the playoff race.
